Rogue's Gallery

Here's a rough line up of incidental characters in the bar at the opening of my comic "Seaweed". I designed a brand of cigarettes but they never got used, maybe they'll show up in the second book.

  1. Man, I just found your blog and i'm glad I did. Your stuff is so tight. What kind of pen do you ink with?

Keep it up bro. I'll be back for sure. Cheers, Andrew

  4. LOL, Siamese twins! Amazing drawings, Ben! Great blend of flowing lines and a solid form. Funny and creative animal characters like these have been missing from our industry for a long time. Inspiring as usual!

  10. I love that guy with the duck feet, suit and martini..he's so classy. The siamese Cat twins are hilarious..such a cool idea! Is that an ink brush pen or what? Do you ink right over your original roughs? These are fantastic..thanks for sharing them.

  13. Excellent designs, as usual. I kind of remember this being addressed before but I must ask, when does it look like Seaweed will be in print and for sale? Also, will it be a single graphic novel or released in single regular sized issues? So looking foward to it! Thanks for sharing these sketches.

  16. Amazing work Ben! I really can't wait for your comic to be done and able to be purchased. Your work has been a real eye-opener, and I make sure to visit your blog at least once a week...
I hope you don't mind, but I put your blogsite on my links on my blogsite...although you get quite a few views anyways.

  17. Thanks to all of you for the great feedback!

Flipstudios-Thanks for finding my blog! I ink with Pitt artist pens by Fabercastle, (I think I spelled that right, I don't have one near me.)

Justin-The plan is to have it ready for comic con this next summer.

Ben-I did these with a brush pen but I generally use a superfine tip and build up the line to look like a brush did it. That way I can keep tight anal control over each line.

Tapan-That sounds like a great dream! I would hope, however that Taco Bell makes the toys, cause I love that place.

Tom-Hopefully it'll be released this next summer. It will be a giant sized, full color, 64 page, hard cover graphic novel, (or long comic book if you prefer.) It's a self contained story with the possibility of a sequel or two.

Cosmicpencil- Hell, I don't mind at all if you link me! Thanks so much, I appreciate it!!!

  18. Such great characters!

I'd really hate to come across those 2 characters at the top of the page! I already feel like they're going to demand my lunch money...or else.
