Hi! I'm currently a storyboard artist and character designer at Disney TV working on Wander Over Yonder! I just finished a 6 year run as a story artist at DreamWorks were I boarded on How To Train Your Dragon among other movies. I'm an Emmy Award winner for my character designs on "Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends". I've worked as a storyboard artist and character designer at Nickelodeon on Danny Phantom, and a character designer at Disney TV for too many projects to list. I've been nominated for 7 Annie Awards and have recently self published my first graphic novel: "Seaweed, and the Cure for Mildew." All work is is a copyright of me unless it's for some studio I'm working for.

These are fantastic!
I don't think I've posted a comment yet on your blog, Ben, but this one GOT me! These are really beautiful designs, drawings, inks, color- the whole thing! Is this hand inked, then colored in Photoshop? What do you ink with?
Amazing stuff!
Um, you're really good.
MAC
Thanks so much guys!
Tom, I did these solely on my Cintiq 21 UX! No pens or paper at all. I'm using a program called Alais Sketchbook Pro 2. It's similar to Photoshop in that you use layers, but it's much more artist friendly cause you don't need to learn al the keyboard shortcuts to use it efficiently. It's also a much better sketching program as the pencil tool behaves more like a sketchy pencil then the solid paint look of photoshop. I did all the color in Sketchbook as well, again just using the pencil on an under layer. It's a lot of fun to just sit at your computer screen and start drawing away! I can't recomend getting one enough!!!!! If your interested I got mine through digitalgraphicsresources.com (you can find the link at wacom.com if I spelled it wrong.) They were good to buy from. There, that's my sales pitch.
really great birdies! i like the bottom row and the red faced guy on the right. nice variety!
